IMAGES MASECTOMY REACTIONS

Creating this project was a very special experince for me. I knew it would contribute to the processing and acceptance, but it really meant more to me than I thought it would. It really felt like the closure of a period that I had not yet been able to completely let go off emotionally.

It was a recognition of my body as it is now and also a transition to a new and constructive phase.

When we received the result on August 10 that the scan was completely clean, I could not really comprehend that yet. It felt unreal and I didn't feel very happy at all. I mainly thought: Oh yeah, so I am better now? And what now? How am I supposed to proceed?

You have lived in sickness and fear for so long that it does not immediately sink in and you actually feel very lost when you get such a 'redeeming' result. The feeling of really being better and having survived/ conquered this actually only came when I was with you, we made those scans and I saw the results on the computer. `` Somehow I was afraid that I would never get the feeling that I really had my life back and I had no idea that precisely this experience would be the starting shot for that. '' That has given me so much more hope than I can express. For me it was very healing and I really felt welcome and at ease.

What a wonderful job you have done! I think it's really special how you put this down. "It radiates so much strength and confidence, good job!" Everyone I show it to is really impressed. I really enjoy recognising myself. I really like the end result, including the circles and the story behind it. Very nice of you for including us in this project from start to finish.
